Overview: Scratch: "What is it?"
|
How does it connect to education?

What are the components of Scratch?
The image above shows a users interface, when they are creating a new Scratch. A scratch user can create a "sprite", which in this image is the bat. The sprite can be drawn using an editor that's available in Scratch, or the user can choose from an already made list of sprites. When clicking on the sprite, a scripts tab will pop up with a list of commands that can be applied to that sprite such as movement, operators, sound, data and much more. This is where the student or user can control or operate the functionality behind their sprite or program as a whole.
